My Documentary Films
Ezzatollah Entezami
documentary films featuring selected artists for the Artists Passage of Kish. This was my second experience with this kind of documentary filmmaking, as in 1375-76 (1996-97), I had previously produced short films introducing the outstanding scholars of Kish in the Kish Garden of scientists (Boostan-e-Daneshvar) series. Despite starting documentary filmmaking in 1372 (1993) with the distinguished Contemporary Iranian Scientists, TV series, which continued airing on Channel One and Channel Four until 1380 (2001), this recent series of short films was significantly different. While the previous professors were from various scientific fields, this series highlighted renowned Iranian artists. The most challenging one was creating a short documentary featuring Mr. Ezzatollah Entezami, which was intended to be showcased like the other films during the Artists Passage event in Kish, in the presence of him and other artists. After multiple discussions, Mr. Entezami suggested that he would prepare a script and perform it in Tehran's Sangalaj Hall, the place of his first stage appearance. Our plan was to record it exactly as he directed. Later, we decided to select scenes from the films he had acted in until that day and incorporate concepts related to the recorded script. The entire process was guided by his opinions from start to finish. This short film represents the final version produced that year and was broadcast during the grand celebration of artists named "Artists Passage" on Kish Island. One of the most unforgettable memories of my professional career is working with Mr. Entezami. I have immense respect for his artistic character and personality, and I wish their spirits remain joyful and their names endure forever.
